Hand-in-Hand Share Missions is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to serving underserved communities through healthcare, humanitarian assistance, education, and compassionate service.

Founded in 2015 by Dr. Tram A. Nguyen, MD, Hand-in-Hand was born from a heart of faith and a desire to answer God’s call to love and serve one another.

Her Catholic faith, together with her vocation as a physician, inspired a simple but powerful vision: to use the gifts God has given us to care for those who are suffering, forgotten, or in need.

From that vision, Hand-in-Hand Share Missions was born.

This Scripture reflects the spirit of our mission. We offer our hands, our talents, and our hearts in service, trusting that God will bring growth from the seeds we plant.

Healing. Hope. Dignity. Compassion.

Our mission is to bring healing, hope, dignity, and compassion to underserved communities by providing healthcare, medications, education, clean water, humanitarian assistance, and other essential resources.

Guided by Christian values of faith, love, compassion, humility, and service, we seek to recognize the dignity of every person we encounter.

We serve people because they are our brothers and sisters.

Regardless of background, circumstance, or ability to repay, we believe every person deserves to be treated with dignity, kindness, respect, and love.

OUR STORY

A Calling to Serve

Hand-in-Hand Share Missions began in 2015 with a calling to serve.

As a physician, Dr. Tram A. Nguyen had dedicated her professional life to caring for patients. But her Catholic upbringing and faith called her to look beyond the walls of a medical office and toward communities where people lacked access to even basic healthcare and necessities.

She believed that the gifts God gives each person—whether medical knowledge, professional skills, time, resources, or simply a willingness to help—can become instruments of His love when they are shared with others.

That belief became the foundation of Hand-in-Hand Share Missions.

What began with compassionate volunteers serving underserved communities in Vietnam has grown into a network of physicians, dentists, optometrists, pharmacists, nurses, therapists, students, families, donors, sponsors, and community volunteers serving both internationally and here at home in North Texas.

Not one person above another, but people walking together—Hand in Hand.

FAITH IN ACTION

Called to See Christ in Others

“Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.”

For Hand-in-Hand, these words are not simply something to remember. They are an invitation to act.

Faith becomes meaningful when it moves our hearts toward others.

Sometimes that means a physician examining a patient who has not seen a doctor in years. Sometimes it means a dentist relieving someone’s pain. Sometimes it means helping a child receive eyeglasses so that he or she can see the classroom clearly.

Sometimes it means providing clean water, food, medicine, or an opportunity for a child to remain in school. And sometimes it is simply sitting beside another person, listening to their story, holding their hand, and reminding them that they are not forgotten.

This is faith in action.

HOW WE SERVE

Healing the Person, Not Just the Illness

Healthcare is at the heart of Hand-in-Hand, but our mission extends beyond treating illness. We recognize that health can be affected by many things—clean water, nutrition, education, poverty, living conditions, access to medicine, and hope.

Medical Care

Examinations, screenings, treatment, health education, and medications.

Dental Care

Preventive and restorative care, oral-health education, cleanings, extractions, and other needed treatment.

Vision Care

Eye examinations, vision screenings, eyeglasses, and related resources.

Medication & Medical Resources

Helping communities gain access to needed medications and medical supplies.

Clean Water

Supporting water-filtration projects that help provide safer water to underserved communities.

Education

Assisting children and families with educational and tuition needs.

Children & Orphanages

Supporting healthcare, education, oral health, caretakers, and other needs.

Food & Humanitarian Assistance

Providing food, rice, medicine, and basic necessities to families experiencing hardship.

Through these efforts, we seek not only to treat today’s needs but also to help create hope for tomorrow.

SERVING AT HOME

Serving Our Neighbors in North Texas

Mission does not always require traveling across the world.

There are people in need within our own communities.

Throughout North Texas, Hand-in-Hand brings together healthcare professionals and community volunteers to provide free medical, dental, vision, pharmaceutical, screening, and educational services.

Our local missions are an important reminder of Christ’s commandment to love our neighbor.

And sometimes our neighbor lives only a few miles away.

SERVING ABROAD

Serving Our Brothers and Sisters in Vietnam

Vietnam holds a special place in the history and heart of Hand-in-Hand Share Missions.

Since 2015, our volunteers have traveled to underserved and rural communities in Vietnam to provide healthcare and humanitarian assistance.

Temporary clinics bring together medical professionals and volunteers to serve patients who may have limited access to physicians, dentists, eye care, medications, and other essential services.

But our commitment does not end when the mission team returns home.

Hand-in-Hand has also supported longer-term efforts involving clean water, education, children’s needs, food, medicine, orphanages, and assistance for individuals facing significant medical challenges.

We go to serve. But time after time, our volunteers return realizing that we also receive.

We receive the smiles of children, the gratitude of families, the wisdom of the elderly, new friendships, and a deeper understanding of what it means to love our neighbor.

Founder & President, Hand-in-Hand Share Missions

Dr. Tram A. Nguyen founded Hand-in-Hand Share Missions in 2015 with a vision deeply rooted in her Catholic faith, family upbringing, and vocation as a physician.

Growing up in a Catholic family helped shape her understanding that our blessings and talents are gifts from God and that those gifts carry a responsibility to serve others.

Medicine gave her the ability to heal.
Faith gave that ability a deeper purpose.

Through Hand-in-Hand, Dr. Nguyen sought to bring together people from many professions and walks of life and give them an opportunity to share their gifts in service to those most in need.

Under her leadership and with the dedication of countless volunteers, donors, supporters, and community partners, that vision has continued to grow.

Every Pair of Hands Can Make a Difference

You do not need to be a doctor to change someone’s life.

Our missions depend on physicians, dentists, optometrists, pharmacists, nurses, therapists, and other healthcare professionals—but they also depend on students, translators, organizers, drivers, photographers, fundraisers, families, businesses, churches, donors, and countless other volunteers.

Some give their professional skills. Some give financially. Some organize supplies. Some prepare meals. Some translate. Some pray. Some simply show up ready to serve.
